Is FEIBA a blood product?
The safety and efficacy of FEIBA has not been evaluated in subjects ≥ 65 years of age. FEIBA (Anti-Inhibitor Coagulant Complex) is a freeze-dried sterile human plasma fraction with factor VIII inhibitor bypassing activity to be reconstituted for intravenous administration.
How do you administer FEIBA?
FEIBA must be administered as an intravenous injection or infusion. The rate of administration should ensure the comfort of the patient and should not exceed a maximum of 2 U/kg body weight per minute.

What is the mode of action of FEIBA?
FEIBA controls bleeding by induction and facilitation of thrombin generation, a process for which FV is crucial. A number of biochemical in vitro and in vivo studies have shown that FXa and prothrombin play a critical role in the activity of FEIBA. Consequently, they are considered to be key components of this product.
Is FEIBA a PCC?
Objective: Prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) products are emerging as alternative strategies for reversing anticoagulant pharmacotherapy. Factor eight inhibitor bypassing activity (FEIBA, or anti-inhibitor coagulant complex) is an activated PCC (aPCC).
Who makes FEIBA?
Monitor patients receiving FEIBA for signs and symptoms of thromboembolic events (5.1, 6.2). To report SUSPECTED ADVERSE REACTIONS, contact Baxter Healthcare Corporation at 1-866-888-2472 or FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or

Is Feiba a aPCC?
FEIBA NF and VH are considered aPCC products because they contain mostly activated factor VII along with mainly non-activated factors II, IX, and X.

FEIBA® is current formulary activated prothrombin complex concentrate (aPCC) product. KCentra® is current formulary prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) product. Kcentra™ contains clotting factors II, VII, IX and X. It contains heparin and use should be avoided in patients where heparin is contraindicated.
