What happens if you drop a contact in water?
Water can cause soft contact lenses to change shape, swell, and stick to the eye. This is uncomfortable, and can scratch the cornea (the clear dome that covers the colored part of the eye), which makes it easier for germs to enter the eye and cause infection. Most water is not germ-free.
Can you use contact lens after dropping it?
If you drop a lens you need to rinse it thoroughly with saline at the very least. Ideally clean and disinfect it again before insertion. If you have daily disposable contact lenses it is recommended that you discard the dropped lens and open a new one to replace it.

How do you tell if a contact lens is inside out?
Gently squeeze the lens as if you were trying to fold it in half. While squeezing, look at the edge of the lens. If it’s pointing upwards, or if the edges appear to meet, then the lens is the correct way around. If it bends outwards towards your finger and thumb, then the lens is inside out.
How do I know if my contact lens is falling out?
If you can’t feel it, open your eye and look in a mirror to try to locate it. If you can’t see your lens, try to look in the opposite direction of where you think your lens has gone. This might help you see it. If you can’t find your lens, it’s possible it fell out of your eye.

Once it has had time to absorb the right amount of solution, try putting it in your eye. If you feel any discomfort or irritation, it’s time to get rid of it.
Can you boil your contact lens cases?
If necessary, you can put the contact lens case in the dishwasher occasionally to disinfect it. Alternatively, you can place the case in boiling water for five minutes to sterilize it. Replace your case every three months.
